Jamie Sives Update: Triage DVD Cover Art and He's Staying Alive!

June means a Jamie Sives update is here :) Today, we can see the official artwork for the "Triage" DVD starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Sives. Smaller versions are now online at Amazon.com, but thanks indeed to a kind soul on my flickr, we can see this high res scan of the sell sheet which includes not only better look at the cover, but also CONFIRMS INTERVIEWS, DELETED SCENES and a Behind-the-scenes feature on the film. Excellent news! As reported here earlier, the Triage DVD will be released in the US on August 10th.
We can hope to see ads for this in EW, TV Guide, US Weekly, FX on TNT and TBS and USANetwork, FB more. Stay tuned. Finally, be sure to read a bit of the press material from Jamie Sives --------------->

Speaking of Jamie, I know I have been well remiss in posting this, but I LOVE this cute promo for "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" where Jamie is just cracking up :) No word yet on that DVD release but note that the Clash of the Titans DVD w/Jamie and Mads Mikkelsen is out July 26 in UK, July 27 US as well.

Stayin' Alive with Jamie Sives

Did you ever have one of those things you stumble over and you go nooo no way , but at same time you going hell yes and are laughing and cant wait for it actually to be real/see it/know it to be fact? Such is the case for me last week when I was watching an interview with one of the stars of Gurinder Chadha's upcoming It's a Wonderful Afterlife, when Sendhil made some new comments about the credits of the movie and what the cast-which includes the ever fabulous Jamie Sives as Detective Hughes- that make me just coo in delight at the prospect.. witness:

That director loves music on her films. Did she make you sing?Sendhil Ramamurthy: "No singing. I did do some dancing. She likes to do the credits so it's actually going to be a Bollywood-style version of 'Staying Alive.' It's 'Staying Alive' but they did a Bollywood version of it."

And do you do the John Travolta pose? Sendhil Ramamurthy: "I'm afraid I do. I do."How long did it take her to convince you to do that?Sendhil Ramamurthy: "A disturbingly little time, but I now regret it thoroughly."

HAHAHAH YES YES YES! Omg dancing with Jamie would be heaven sent as it is lol (sing, dance, talk to, be in same area together, breathe same air lol), but but but ajkljaklj ajkh wheee! ... I am so hoping we get to see this on screen. We are roughly the same age, so I know he and well frankly all of us know the Bee Gees so this is just toooo funny, cant wait! Right now tis scheduled to open end of March, 2010.

One quick other update that I tweeted about last week: Danis Tanovic's Triage starring Jamie Sives and Colin Farrell will be opening the Rome Film Festival on October 15. It will screen at 19:30, then again on the 16th and 17th at 20:00. Tickets go on sale this week (28th)

Beep Beep! Speedy Sives Coming Through!

"Baby you can drive my car, Yes Jamie youre my star, baby you can drive my car, and Jamie I looooveee you... beep beep'm beep beep YEAH~

:)

There is a random and sort of fun article now online regarding my most favorite actor Jamie Sives, and his new film "It's a Wonderful Afterlife." In the film, Jamie is playing a police detective, and this article from Metro features the director Gurinder Chadha discussing working with actors and cars, noting that the new film "features five cars, including an SUV, an ambulance and a police car, each carefully chosen for their character by Chadha and her art department. “You might not notice them, but because they belong to the character they should be there. You need to employ an action vehicle person whose job it is to just move the cars around.”

Cool~ No word if Jamie is going to be plowing through the streets of London, ala Starsky and Hutch style, but this next part cracked me up as the article continued:
Meanwhile, actors have to be insured on their characters’ cars — and drive them. The previous day, one of Chadha’s actors plowed into a fence; some can’t even drive at all. “In those situations you just turn the engine on and cut there, turn the engine off, and then someone pushes it from the back so it looks as if they’re starting to pull off.”

hahah! no word if it was Jamie doing the plowing, but I figure not lol. He's driven in movies before or thru the magic of Hollywood made it look like hes driven in other films, most recently driving an ambulance. I'd trust him to drive my car any ole time thats for sure! ;)

On a serious note though, the piece does mention how tricky it can be to shoot scenes in cars. One good reminder/example of this can be witnessed from the recent production of New Town Killers, featuring Sigma's own Alastair Mackenzie, who has several scenes in the car. Director Richard Jobson has posted on his website many excellent behind the scenes photos involving setting up shots for the car etc. Check them out here.
