Al Plays Guitar

Al, he plays guitar....
Last August, we were treated to brief footage of Sigma's own Alastair Mackenzie in his new role as Monty in Todd Tucker's family 'horror' film Monster Mutt. As noted here several times (most recently last month) the film is coming out on DVD on January 4, and the company has released a new music video to help in this endeavor. In the new video, at around the 1:33 mark, we see a familar face, in his spiffy wig and robe and all, enjoying a late night rock band session, where Al plays guitar :D wheee! I LOVE YOU AL! Enjoy!

Now Available: Pre-Orders for "Monster Mutt" DVD with Alastair Mackenzie
As reported here many times previously, Sigma's own Alastair Mackenzie is a featured actor in the family film "Monster Mutt" from director Todd Tucker. That film, which screened recently at the London Children's Film Festival, is as we already know, being released on DVD in the US on January 4, 2011. Pre-orders for what seems to be a Walmart exclusive DVD can now be found at this link! Rated PG, this is a fun "horror" film about a dog, an experiment gone awry, and a cranky fussy neighbor played by our own Al (who sports some hilarious hair and white flip flops to boot lol) Go Al Go! :)

Update on Al

Well it's not much of an update on Alastair Mackenzie Im afraid, but there were a few things I thought worth noting:
Jeremy Herrin's production of Michael Wynne's THE PRIORY at the Royal Court Theatre featuring Sigma's own Alastair Mackenzie is of course well into rehearsals (follow the RCT twitter here) Of interest, the schedule of various special nights including press night AND A POST SHOW TALK NIGHT are now online. If you are still trying to book tickets these dates seemed interesting lol No idea if Al will participate either
Press Night(s)
Thursday 26 November 7pm
Audio-Described Performance(s)
Saturday 12 December 3pm
Captioned Performance(s)
Thursday 10 December 7.30pm

Also, for those that dont follow the Facebook page, there will be a cast and crew screening of MONSTER MUTT this week on Thurs, Oct 27 at the Arclight in Hollywood. Doubt Al will be there due to his theatre obligations but you never know. Recently the producer Harvey Lowry and director Todd Tucker gave an update on the film(which is now OFFICIALLY COMPLETE), which hopefully we will all get to see soon.

"We’re a week away from completely finishing Monster Mutt," Tucker tells Shock. "It’s a family fantasy film about a family dog that gets kidnapped by a corporation, they use him for testing and turn him into a monster dog. It’s lovable big monster dog, all practical FX. It’s a creature suit and an animatronic head." "It’s very much character driven, it’s PG so it’s not gory or anything," confesses Tucker. "It’s really got the old feel of films that really inspired us like Gremlins and ET and Harry & The Hendersons, films that were all very family driven. And I tried to make something that had a contemporary feel to it, but also the spiritual feel of the old Spielberg films. We hope to have it out sometime next year."

First Look! Alastair Mackenzie in "Monster Mutt" WoooF!

Check it out, our first look at Sigma's own the ever fabulous Alastair Mackenzie
in his new film MONSTER MUTT
ajkajkjaahahaha AWESOME!

HOT HAIR BABE, and lolz to those flipflops ahahaha
Pictured with Al is Rhiannon Leigh Wryn. Alastair Mackenzie (co-founder of Sigma Films and yes thats him, the normally gorgeous laird from Monarch of the Glen) plays the part of "Monty" in this new family film from director Todd Tucker. You can see the whole cast list here via IMDB, importantly, find this pic and a slew more
HERE at the new official Facebook page for the movie.
Filming has now wrapped on the movie, which was shot on location in Santa Clarita California, and is due for release sometime next year. According to this article the Monster is described by the producer as a "giant, Clifford-type animatronic dog," which requires five people to operate. "We're trying to use as little digital as possible," he said. One of the challenges in making the film, Tucker said, was coming up with a believable monster dog that wasn't too scary for kids.
The film is being shot completely within the city of Santa Clarita, and Tucker, Lowry and line producer Seth William Meier had nothing but good things to say about working with the city's film office.Additionally, Lowry said the production commandeered Tucker's neighborhood for several days of shooting and wound up using several local kids as extras."This place films amazingly," Tucker said of Santa Clarita.
There is also a website, but dont get your hopes up with that script link-you need a password and I strongly suspect they wont be giving it to wee fans like us lol!

Alastair has gone to the dogs!
Not even Hectors dogs! :P
LMAO well obviously NOT but he is starring in new film called "Monster Mutt." This movie, which is NOW IN PRODUCTION is being directed by Todd Tucker, and is described as a FAMILY FRIENDLY woot! production... "a family/comedy following the exploits of the family dog, Max, as an evil corpora
tion tests their new energy drink on the lovable Mutt. Max begins his transformation while the family tries to hold on to their lifelong friend."No word on where the film is shooting (Vancouver?), but it does seem to have a 2010 release date for now
Alastair Mackenzie is a beloved UK actor (Monarch of the Glen) and co-founder/producer for Sigma Films of Glasgow, Scotland. WE LOVE YOU AL! Congratulations; cant wait to see the new film!
